This is my favorite concert on this site. I nominate it for a download. I would love to jam to this in the car.

Came home. Bad day. Found this fantastic site...this show. Feet up, beer in hand...headphones on...eye's closed. Everything is now pretty much perfect. Thanks for the site....literally made my day. Bill in SC.
Dark Star Jam is some of the best music I have ever or will ever listen to. Absolutely grabs you by the cortex and give you the shivers. Thank you for putting this out there...
This sound like it is made from the same 1st gen. as my copy. I rarely play mine because it is so old. I have so many tapes I need to make digital. Thanks Bilbo for sharing this one.
bilbo, you've resurrected a true gem w/ this one. one of my 1st ever bootlegs and always one of my favs! Grateful Thanks from good ol' cape cod ---->plantman77
There is magic on this tape. Jerry's jam on "Dark Star," a Pleiades-like streak of diamonded guitar riffs, is this set's virtue and climax. The recording shows a young, vibrant rock band in their absolute prime. Two drummers and Pig Pen make up a winning hand. One of my Top 10 favorite Grateful Dead recordings. One-thousand thank-yous, sir.
What can one say about the climatic second-half of a mythological evening for the Grateful Dead: February 18, 1971. Without a grey hair on his head, a young, grinning, black-bearded Jerry Garcia hammers out herculean performances on "Dark Star" (first show) and "Not Fade Away" (this second show). The band also sports two drummers pounding out the "NFA" tribal rock beat. Not too common on available recordings. After this evening, personal matters forced drummer Mickey Hart out of the band. "Uncle John's Band" is the encore!
Perfect for a night in....thank you Jerry Radio!- Grateful in Cambridge, OH
im truly grateful and with that said THANK YOU GRATEFUL DEAD
sweeeeeeet !!!!!
Beauty - this made for a beautiful Saturday night under the stars....WALSTIB
stranded on Grand Cayman. Your site streams better than any radio station I tune into. Is it you or cosmic cowboy strummin' to us from nirvana?
It's been a bad fortnight at work, and I'm dog tired. Yet listening to Bertha I'm energised. The world sucks - but Jerry heals.
THese small, funky regional theaters were magical places to see the Dead/NRPS shows, and Port Chester was one of the great ones...hope we didn't burn too many holes in the seats, or freeze too many lips!
We drove down from our commune in Cooperstown to this show, with suitable preparations. Great show--hard to remember how far outside the law they were then, compared to mainstream acceptance later in their career.
I listen, it makes me happy
wish I could have been at this show but I was -4 years old. Sure am glad I can enjoy it anyways
